I already picked Tarapoto for my trip before I arrived in Peru. When I was roaming around on google maps. I’ve thought to myself that this area with all the green forests and mountains could be interesting.
The valley of the Shilcayo river is an incredible place. The surrounding mountains, the river, the forests, the wildlife. Simply amazing.

The hike to Laguna Wilcacocha was supposed to be the day of rest with its only 3700 meters altitude.
I was suffering a bit on this day, but it was totally worth it.
