Daytrip to Erfurt, the capital of Thüringen

Just like most German city, Erfurt also has a pretty city centre full of historical buildings. Erfurt is one of the lucky ones where many buildings from the middle ages survived WW2. The citadel is also something worth to visit. It’s been under renovation since ‘90s. Looks brand new. And the view is espectacular. Windmills, forests, disturbingly high number of churches and huge ugly socialist residential buildings (Wait what? I thought, this was West-Germany already :D)
