Trujillo
I arrived at Trujillo without having any plans at all. In fact originally I wasn’t planning come to here at all, but it turned out that this is the fastest way to go to the north even if looking at the map it seems like it would be three times as long, but ones you see the difference between the bumpy narrow roads in the mountains and the good quality highway along the coast it makes perfect sense.
I arrived to the city terminal at 6 in the morning and I had the intention to take the next bus, to the next city immediately but all the bus company stalls were closed so I had no other choice then looking around in the city centre and there I let a guy explain to me their tour options and I bought the tour right on the spot even though it is very much against my policies: (Never accept, or buy anything from people who are approaching you first)
After I bought the tour I had to look for accommodation as well. Trujillo is surprisingly expensive and they don’t really have hostels for Backpackers. I ended up booking a single room near the centre which was nice for a change. Finally some privacy and my own shower.
The trip I bought to Chan Chan and to La Huacas de la Luna temple were probably not the best and not the cheapest, proving my policy but there are definitely no regrets. It wasn’t a scam after all and walking through those 1000 year old walls was an unforgettable experience.
