Popayán

Popayán is one of the oldest cities in Colombia. It was an important centre of trade at the early periods of colonialism. Thanks to this it has a nice city centre,where all the buildings are painted to white.

I arrived pretty early in the city. I walked to the hostel while most of the people were only about to wake up and watched how they cleaned the streets.

I was lucky because at the hostel they let me go to my room right after I arrived but instead of going to sleep I decided to go for a run. I really enjoyed this run. I found some trails in the nearby forest up to the hills. It was pretty cool.

I didn't wait too long. The next morning I already left for Neiva.
