Trip to Cachi

During this trip we travelled from Salta to Cachi. Salta is in a wide valley. It's a green place surrounded by mountains and forests. The road first goes through fields where crops are cultivated. Then we turn to a narrow valley, and quickly start to climb up to the mountains. The most incredible thing on this journey was to see how quickly the environment changes around us. In less than 100km it fully transformed from a jungle to a desert.

I have already crossed route 40 “Ruta Cuarenta” multiple times during my travels. Last time was just a few days ago when I went to Cafayate. This is the route which crosses the whole country from the south all the way up to the north. It connects El Calafate, El Bolsón, San Carlos de Bariloche and Mendoza as well.
