Bogota to Medellín by Bus

Today I left Bogotá and I’m already on my way to Medellín. I chose a 10 hour journey by bus, instead of taking a flight, only because I wanted to share to you pictures like this.

I was expecting this stunning view, but I didn’t know that this way is going to be so hard. Our speed is around 30-40 km/h. We are traveling on dangerous small rutes. There are around 15 people on the bus, but three of them already throw up. I’m okay for now, bur more than the half of the route is ahead of us, though the half of the time passed. I don’t know when I should start to worry about missing the check-in time in my hostel.

By the way the bus is really good. We have a lot of place. The Wifi isn’t working but there is no signal anyway. We were in 15 minutes delay, when the bus drivers checked if everybody is on board. One man was missing, so we waited for another 10 minutes. Time schedule isn’t an important thing around here. I was the only one who arrived one our before departure, because they said so.

One of the weirdest things, that the busdriver let some people up to the bus who are selling food and thing, and many people buys from them. I also bought some chicken with arepa for less than two Euro.

(12 hours later)

At the end the bus had only two hours delay, so I could check in the hostel in time. After my arrival I already started to talk with two guys and the receptionist. The guys asked me what plans I have for the night, I told them “sleeping” but I end up discovering the nightlife in Medellín.
