Freetime

I always try to spend my free time in a productive way. I do useful things and things which I can learn useful skills from. Of course it doesn’t always have to be like that. It’s not a sin to watch a meaningless stupid movie. In fact it’s my favourite thing to do when my brain is dead.

Web developing

This Web page is the perfect example for me spending my free time learning something useful. I enjoyed building this website. I didn’t want to use any templates, not even wordpress. I wanted to build every section, every page on my own. And I did it. I’m pretty proud of my work. I learned html, and css from the internet. I understand how javascript functions are working. It is still basic, but I can say that I‘m able to build a webpage.

Travel

Travel is my main hobby, maybe it is more than that. And my travel in Argentina was the main reason that created this website. Later I uploaded my post about my previous travel in Colombia as well.

I believe that travelling is the best thing you can do with your free time. Getting to know the world around us is a lot of fun, you can have amazing adventures. It is fun but it is also important. I think it should be obligatory for people to travel to other countries. That’s the only way to actually learn that we all are the same. Regardless of race and culture everywhere on the Earth you will meet kind people, who would help you if you need. I say it even when I know that travel has a negative effect on the environment. This is a big price, but I think it is worth it, because visiting all those beautiful places on earth will make you realise that you have to do everything in your power to protect Nature.

Hiking

Since I was talking about the environment I have to talk a little bit about Hiking as well. It’s the cheapest and best version of travelling and the most relaxing. We are really lucky here in Hungary, because we have beautiful forests which are really worth it to discover.

Reading

Reading is one of my favourite activities. Especially on the train. When you travel by train there is no better thing to do than to read. Well maybe when you are with friends you could talk to them, but that is the only exception. I started reading pretty late. I was already around 17 when I read my first book from my own will. I suffered through some of the obligatory literature before, but that isn’t the same as enjoying a book for yourself.

My very first Novel was Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden which I found on the table of my classmate. I quickly read a few sentences and I loved it. I borrowed it and read it in a few days.

Once I asked for a book from my sister. I’ve got the: Of Love and Other Demons by Gabriel García Márquez. It was love at first sight. Since then I read all of his books available in Hungarian and he was the main reason why I picked Colombia for my first longer trip.

I like in general every book that takes me to other places, and the best if there is a little bit of twist. That’s why I liked Márquez. He took me to his incredible world to the Caribbean, but Macondo, with all the magical things happening there, only exists in his mind. Same for Murakami. His stories are taking place in Japan, but that isn’t really Japan. That is some kind of surreal blending between the real world and a parallel universe.

Sport

I love playing sports, especially when a ball is involved. I already mentioned hiking, a love that too, and I do run sometimes, however Football and Volleyball would be my favourites Unfortunately I don’t have a group of people who I could play regularly with.

Cooking

Everybody has to eat and most of us love to do so. I’m in a lucky situation because I also love cooking. Even when I arrive home late after work being exhausted I don’t mind cooking something. It helps me to relax.
