Marquiri

Marquiri Falls, Tarija, Bolvivia

I was lucky enough to have a Bolivian local guide for this small trip. I don't think I would have ever found this place without her. It is quite easy to get to Marquiri falls after a short two hour hike from the bus stop. Most of the Buses from Tarija only go to San Lorenzo, but a few of them will get you closer or you can get a Taxi from San Lorenzo.

For us it was a little bit more complicated though. Protesters closed the bridges. We had to wait almost two hours, until a bus finally decided to take us, but we had to walk through the closed bridge and on the other side there was another bus waiting for us.

It is a spectacular waterfall in a naturally formed tunnel. I went to freezing cold water to swim and climbed up to the waterfall.
