Loboyacu
A bit of a taste of the rainforest and discovering rural areas in the Amazonas.
I took a ship from Santa Clara, Iquitos to Loboyacu. The price is only 3 Soles and you get the whole view of the river, the rainforests and they are taking you to a real village of the amazon rainforest. There are no schedules for the ships, of course. They are leaving when there are enough passengers. There isn't even a fixed port. The first day when I was just looking around I found the port in one place and the next day it was displaced by more than a hundred metres.

During the 20 minute ride I talked to an old guy and he immediately invited me to his home. He showed me around in the garden and showed me his Chancho (Pig). I can tell he was really proud of her, especially because she was pregnant. He even told me that I could spend the night there which was almost weird but I believe he was really just that nice. Later on my walk through the village I saw one more family from the ship. They also wanted to invite me into their house and I couldn’t help but feel a bit weird and overwhelmed by their hospitality so I refused. The village is built along a paved street that goes deep into the forest. At some point I left the paved road to follow a narrow path through the jungle.

When I was about to leave and waited for the ship, I saw some people walking towards the river. They went for a swim so I decided to join them. The water was pretty clear and cold. Felt amazing after all this walking under the burning sun.
