Laguna Wilcacocha

After my hike to Laguna Churup I had all the intention to just relax on the next day, but when I woke up, I felt refreshed. Laguna Wilcacocha seemed like a good choice for a less exhausting hike. It is only 3700 m high, and 9 km with 500 m up. It is also easy because there are plenty of buses that can take you in 15 minutes to the bridge where the hike starts.

Even though we were at a lower altitude I still felt hard to breathe sometimes, but the hardest part of this day was the sun and the heat. I was always walking from shadow to shadow in order to protect my already burned skin, and to avoid getting a heat stroke again.

Laguna Wilcacocha is pretty small and it's like a pond compared to all the other Lagunas around Huaraz, but it had a nice vibe with the green grass around, with the ducks in it. And the best part is the view. You can see plenty of the surrounding 6000+ m height peaks that are covered by snow.
