Cartagena de Indias, Colombia
Cartagena is maybe the most touristic city in Colombia and I think this is exactly why I didn't like it that much. José, if you are reading this: Sorry. It is beautiful and the trip to Cartagena started really well. When I arrived at the bus station and I successfully got rid of all the people who wanted me to offer something I found the bus which would take me to the centre, but didn't find the office where I can buy tickets. I asked a guy, who didn't know the answer - just like in Bogotá - but this time, he helped me to find it, he asked around by other people, and then he walked with me to the office and helped to buy it. The bus was good, with air conditioning and there were not to many people on it. It stuck for a while in the traffic, but I arrived soon to the centre. I picked a good hostel on Hostelworld. I found it pretty easy. And I checked in. At this time I think I already lost like 3 litres of water through sweating. At my room I met a guy from England who just arrived as well. We went for a walk in the city centre together. The streets in the heart of the city are really nice. I saw many beautiful pictures about them before, and I wasn't disappointed when I saw it through my own eyes. The chain of those high building at the coat is very impressive as well.

Next day Jack had the Idea to go to Playa Blanca and spend the night there, and an Australian guy joined us as well. It's a famous beach near Cartagena. To be honest, it would be amazing without the people, but now it made me rather sad. If you walk 30 metres from the water, behind the houses you can find an unimaginable level of dirt, it's like a landfill. And also that's the place where they prepare your food for double the normal price. We walked alongside the coast for around two km. And we found a quiet place. At that point you could imagine how it would look without humans, but unfortunately it was covered with trash too.
So it was really nice to see these iconic places, but after two days I just wanted to get out of here. I'm writing these lines from Barranquilla.
