Trip to Cafayate

I have already crossed route 40 “Ruta Cuarenta” multiple times during my travels. This is the route which crosses the whole country from the south all the way up to the north. It connects El Calafate, El Bolsón, San Carlos de Bariloche and Mendoza as well. And I will also come back a few days later when I visit Cachi.

I’m not a big fan of guided tours with buses and stuff. I believe that the best way to discover this part would be with an own car, because that way you can stop whenever and wherever you want and you can spend as much time as you want, however since I was alone it wasn’t an option now.

During this trip we stopped in a few nice places and finished in Cafayate which is a nice little town in the desert. The most incredible thing on this journey was to see how quickly the environment changes around us. In less than 100km it is fully transformed from a jungle to a desert.
