My last week in Colombia
Throwback time again
Three years ago when I travelled around Colombia, I spent my last week in Bogotá. A part of me was filled with sadness because my journey was over, but another part of me was rather excited about being home again. I was overwhelmed by hundreds of stories from the previous weeks, and tired from the thousands of km-s behind me. My budget dried out too, so I didn’t plan any travel for the last week, not even in neighbouring cities. Bogotá is big enough anyway. I had plenty of programs to choose from.

Mostly I walked around Candelaria, which is the old city centre. I went to markets here. I found a whole district which was filled with second hand bookshops. I loved it. I had to go to an ATM because I didn’t have enough cash to pay for the big pile of used books I collected. I also had to throw away some of my clothes so the books would fit in my bag. I put Bogotá on my running map as well, by doing a 4 km run. I met my Hungarian friend again and visited multiple museums. Basically that was it. That was my last week in Colombia. Lots of chilling, lots of walking, oh and a surprise Mexican festival. I miss you Colombia.
