I’m watching the stories of my friends over and over again. People are on the street everywhere in Argentina and even in Brazil or Costa Rica. Of course Argentinians are dancing, jumping and singing fueled by an unimaginable level of happiness but so are all the nations in Latin America and Millions of people all over the world.
Somehow I feel like this win is a little bit for everyone. France lost this game but they already won 4 years ago, and Mbappe became a hero regardless. Croatia celebrates the Bronze. Maroccans celebrate the first African semifinalist, and the rest? Well they didn’t get close enough to be really disappointed.
Maybe the results are flawless but FIFA and the Organisers aren’t. This story includes massive corruption and thousands of death among the victims of modern slavery. This is the ugly side of the World Cup which shouldn’t be forgotten either.
